Congratulations to the 172 Chemical Engineering graduates who, after many years of inquisitive thought, dedicated study, and impressive self-discipline, received their official diplomas at the University of Waterloo’s Spring Convocation on Saturday, June 16th, 2018.
At the morning ceremony, 126 undergraduate Chemical Engineering students donned their black gown before receiving their academic hood and Bachelor of Applied Science diploma. The evening ceremony saw 46 graduate CHE students take the stage for their graduation honours.
The department of Chemical Engineering hosted a lively afternoon convocation reception in the atrium of Engineering 6. Faculty and staff joined the new graduates and their friends and family to celebrate the 2018 grads’ achievements and wish them well for the future.
The department’s Graduate Coordinator Judy Caron, who joined the event to share in the excitement of the day, expressed the sentiments of the entire department: “It’s such a pleasure to see our students celebrating with their families the conclusion of their studies and the new beginnings that come with this milestone.”
