Waterloo ranked among top in world for engineering and technology

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

The QS international university rankings have placed Waterloo at No. 46 (No. 2 in Canada) for Engineering & Technology this year, surpassing both UBC and McGill University.

This year’s ranking is an improvement (last year we were No. 57 and No. 4 in Canada), in part due to a change in methodology by QS: While these rankings were formerly calculated solely on responses to QS’ reputation survey, they now include a combination of academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper and research h-index.

This wonderful news follows close on the heels of the Shanghai Rankings that ranked Waterloo No. 43 in Engineering & Technology last month.
