  • Know the names and office locations of the Chemical Engineering Health and Safety Subcommittee members. These are posted on our Safety Boards or you can contact our Department Safety Officer (E6-3102, x33311) to obtain the list of current members.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN ANY HANDS-ON EXPERIMENTAL WORK,

  • Ensure that your Safety Training requirements are complete.
  • Obtain all necessary source documents, especially copies of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical data sheets, or biological hazard information.
  • Prepare your Research Safety Report complete with Lab Hazard Analysis and submit it along with your Declaration Page to your Supervisor(s) for approval. Once approved, please scan your signed documents and submit them to the departmental co-op student at checoop@uwaterloo.ca
