On Monday May 27th, the annual Bison Transport Debate was held at the 54th Annual Canadian Transportation Research Forum (CTRF) Conference in Vancouver, BC. The Bison Transport Debate has been conducted in conjunction with the CTRF Annual Meeting since 1996.
Prof. Chris Bachmann (CEE) and Joel Carlson (of CPCS) successfully defeated incumbent champions, Adrian Lightstone (of WSP) and Trevor Hanson (University of New Brunswick). The resolution debated was, "This House Resolves That More Oil Pipelines Should Be Built in Canada." As a result of a coin toss, Prof. Bachmann and Mr. Carlson defended the resolution. The prestigious Bison trophy is residing at CPCS until the Fall, after which it will be displayed in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
