Scholarships and awards

There are many sources of financial support for Waterloo Engineering students.

Scholarships are based on academic excellence and academic contributions. Awards are based on financial need and other criteria such as leadership, community service, and academic excellence. Bursaries are based on financial need.

Featured scholarships and awards for Civil & Environmental Engineering students

Sherbourne-Roorda Memorial Scholarship

One scholarship, valued at up to $1,500, will provide assistance to an outstanding undergraduate student entering the first year of Civil, Environmental, or Geological Engineering.

Kenton J. Carnegie Memorial Award

An award, valued up to $750, is provided annually to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year Three or Four of Geological Engineering.

Ledcor Group Upper-Year Scholarship

One scholarship, valued at up to $2,000, will be awarded to an outstanding undergraduate student entering Year Three or Four of Civil or Environmental Engineering or Architecture Studies in the Faculty of Engineering. 

Thomas Howe Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship, valued at up to $1,000, is awarded annually to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in fourth year of Environmental Engineering. 

Jack Wiseman Award

One award, valued at up to $1,500, is given annually to an outstanding third-or fourth-year undergraduate student or a graduate student in Civil Engineering who demonstrates a commitment to Construction or Project Management.

Dr. Brian Le Lievre Scholarship

Two scholarships, each valued at $2,537.70, are awarded annually to full-time undergraduate students who have completed 2B in the Civil and Environmental Engineering programs.
