Right place, right time for winning student

From co-op to academic exchange, UWaterloo students have the opportunity to travel the world and share their experiences with us. Earlier this month, Waterloo International showcased 13 student photographers in a campus-wide competition for International Celebrations Week.

Lucy Wang, a 3B Civil Engineering student, claimed first place in the competition with her photograph of Time. She was visiting the Musée d'Orsay, when she saw two women walking near the massive clock that defines the former railway station. Her photographer’s instinct told her it would make a perfect shot. Now Lucy feels that Time will forever portray the peace and safety felt in Paris before the terrorist attacks of November 13.
