We are proud to announce that three Communication Arts department members have won awards this year.

Established in 2012 by Dean Doug Peers, the Arts Awards for Service, Teaching and Research recognize exceptional contributions made by faculty, staff and students in the Faculty of Arts. Award recipients are presented with a custom-made glass sculpture at the annual Celebration of Arts reception.

Emily Radcliffe is a third year Arts and Business student majoring in Theatre and Performance. She was one of 21 Black students chosen from more than 60 applicants across Canada who responded to CBC Arts and Obsidian Theatre's 21 Black Futures plays. 21 Black Futures showcases 63 Black Canadian actors, directors, and playwrights, all answering the question “

Chris Goddard (BA ’01) developed critical business skills at Waterloo – in the theatre program

Chris Goddard (BA ’01) is the co-founder of Craft Brand Co., a Toronto agency that partners with local brewers to offer globally renowned brews to Ontario beer lovers. In 2019, Craft Brand Co. launched their online store, Bodega, where you can order limited release brews, exclusive offerings and all the classics – and have them delivered anywhere in Ontario.

Christie Digital Award Winners 2019

We would like to announce the Christie Digital Award winners for 2020. This competition was open to all students enrolled in the Digital Arts Communication Minor program in the Faculty of Arts and the course DAC 302 in particular.  Students applied with 1 minute videos in teams or individually and prizes ranged from $2,500, $1,000, and $500 respectively.

This award was made possible by a generous donation from Christie Digital Systems Canada Inc.
