Better Bail For America (BB4A), a team of four fourth-year Mechanical and Mechatronics engineering students, competed in and won the Hult Prize Regional Finals in Mexico in March 2019.
This team is focusing on improving the criminal justice system in the United States. They aim to help prevent youth unemployment in the USA by enabling young, employed, first-time offenders to access crowdfunded, interest-free bail.
"Hult Prize has been one of the most rewarding and humbling experiences during our time at the University of Waterloo. We have had a memorable weekend competing at the Mexico City Regional, pitching alongside some extremely talented individuals with world-changing ideas. It is deeply humbling to have been selected to attend the Hult Prize Accelerator."
The four members of the team; Rares T. Gosman, Devon Copeland, Mitchell Catoen, and David Ferris also took the time in Mexico to express their thanks to Conrad School.
