Award description:
A scholarship valued at $1,000, is awarded annually to a full-time graduate student enrolled in the Master’s program in the School of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering on the basis of academic excellence as well as study and interest in the area of international architecture. Interested students must complete an application found on the School of Architecture’s website and submit it to the Coordinator of Graduate Studies and Research by May 1. This fund is made possible by donations from multiple donors in honour of Barry Bell, a UW School of Architecture alumnus (1983), former professor, and professional architect.

Value description:
The goal is to provide at least one Award valued at $1,000 annually.

Eligibility & selection criteria: 

  • Full-time graduate students registered in the Master’s program in the School of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering
  • Selection to be based on demonstrated academic excellence (e.g., minimum cumulative overall average of 80% or equivalent)
  • Selection to be based on advanced studies or research interest in international architecture
  • Interested students must complete an application found on the School of Architecture’s website and submit it to the Coordinator of Graduate Studies and Research by May 1.
  • The School of Architecture will select recipients each spring.
