Friday, September 27, 2024 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)Ever wonder what it’s like inside a Black Hole?
Well, you can find out…sort of. The Black Hole Experience by Age of Union is a mobile immersive exhibition premiering in Waterloo Park for the city’s annual Lumen festival on September 21.
Dax Dasilva, CEO of Lightspeed commerce and Founder of Age of Union, along with artist Kelly Nunes, designed the experience inside a 53-foot truck that blends art and physics. This immersive work of art uses light, sound and 3D mapped projection to connect visitors to the wonders of nature and the cosmos, offering a transformative experience that unites them with the universe.
Check it out!
The experience has travelled across North America and debuted at various festivals, fairgrounds and museums. Now, the Faculty of Environment is proudly partnering with Age of Union and the City of Waterloo to bring the Black Hole Experience to Waterloo Region. The experience is free and will be open to the public and campus community to enjoy. We hope you will join us to discover the scientific mystery that black holes are!
No registration is required, and the exhibit is equipped to accommodate various accessibility needs. Accommodation requests can be made by emailing Chinweike Ike-Orji at caikeorj@uwaterloo.ca.
