Alumni Gold Medal Award winner and Top Academic Achiever in Environment and Business
Emma is graduating with an impressive 90.83% average, a vast amount of environmental work experience and a positive impact on many people she has crossed paths with. For her fourth-year capstone project, Emma and her group worked with the Hillside Music Festival in Guelph, Ontario developing a marketing plan including extensive data collection and environmental research.
Her involvement in the community also played an important role in her success. Emma takes pride in encouraging youth and women through programs such as Girl Guides of Canada, Daughters of the Vote Delegate, and many more. Her positivity, uplifting personality and ambition make Emma a role model for many people in her life.
“What I get the most passion out of in life is getting to volunteer and mentor young women, especially in non-traditional career paths” Emma states as she explains her plan to dedicate the next chapter of her life to advocating for women in politics.
Emma’s mixture of business and environmental experience through her schooling is exactly what her program aims to inspire in students. Some of the projects and accomplishments she completed through her academic career include developing a marketing plan for the Loblaw Companies Limited brand (for which she was selected as runner up out of 80 students for the MESBURG award), creating a challenge aimed at helping young women better understand the different facets of sustainability, and working as the Operating Manager for the Environment Student Society’s coffee shop on campus. Her five successful co-op terms with multiple awards and scholarships sets Emma as a perfect example of an engaged student whose hard work and involvement will continue to pay off for years to come.
