We are often asked how we create impact on the ground. How current students, alumni and faculty are generating practical, evidence-based solutions for people and planet. Amazingly, there is no shortage of examples. 

For this issue, we highlight how our community is mobilizing — even on bikes — to protect, restore and manage resources sustainably in a rapidly changing world. At the heart of these efforts are the people who are on the front lines of advancing water protection and berry picking practices, turning knowledge into action and creating meaningful change in communities locally and globally.  

We are also pleased to celebrate the 2026 Alumni Award winners and share their inspiring achievements. The contributions of our alumni continue to shape the world in meaningful and lasting ways.
