AcessAbility Services Course

The AccessAbility Services course in LEARN includes a Graduate Student Resource Module, designed specifically for graduate students, that provides tools and strategies to support researching, planning, writing and presenting. Self-register for the AccessAbility Services course in LEARN.

Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs (GSPA) Events

GSPA hosts programming and events that bring our graduate community together to showcase the amazing research of our graduate students and support graduate student professional skills development.

Graduate Student Association-University of Waterloo (GSA-UW)

The Graduate Student Association-University of Waterloo (GSA-UW) is a student-run not-for-profit and the official representation of graduate students at Waterloo. The GSA-UW hosts a number of social events and provide graduate students with academic support, mental and physical health supports, legal aid, as well as advocacy and representation.

Writing and Communication Centre (WCC)

The WCC will work with you to develop your scholarly voice and to build strategies for tackling your research paper, article, presentation, thesis or dissertation. Services for graduate students include: one-on-one appointments, graduate-specific workshops, and the Grad Writing Café.

More Feet on the Ground Training

This is a free online mental health education program that teaches participants to Recognize, Respond, and Refer individuals experiencing mental health problems on campus.

Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Training

QPR training teaches participants how to recognize and support someone who may be having thoughts of suicide.

Recognizing and Responding to a Person in Distress Training

In this workshop, Recognizing and Responding to a Person in Distress, we aim to give the University of Waterloo students and employees the skills and confidence to support others (students and colleagues) who may be in distress.

Alleviating Anxiety

This CBT and mindfulness-based seminar is designed to help you better understand anxiety, its causes, and the factors that maintain it. Throughout this seminar, we will introduce you to a number of strategies designed to alleviate anxiety at the moment, challenge your anxious thoughts, and change behaviours that maintain your anxiety. 

Rewiring for Happiness Toolkit

Rewiring for Happiness uses positive psychology strategies and tools to help focus your brain on kindness, mindfulness, gratitude, empathy, and connection. Rewiring for Happiness is available as a self-registration course on LEARN
