Rittinger & Motz also purchased all of the German language papers in the region, giving them total ownership of all German papers in Ontario excepting one. Purchases included: Die Ontario Glocke, Der Kanadishe Kolonist, Canadische Volksblatt, and Der Canadische Bauerfreund.
BERLIN, June 30th 1909.
To the Editor.
By the publication of the following you will greatly oblige the undersigned.
Fraternally yours
RITTINGER & MOTZ.
German Newspaper Amalgamation.
The Canadischer Bauernfreund of Waterloo, the Canadisches Volksblatt of New Hamburg, and the Deutsche Zeitung of Berlin have been purchased by Messrs. Rittinger & Motz of Berlin, who already own the Berliner Journal of Berlin, Ontario Glocke of Walkerton, and Canadischer Kolonist of Stratford. This completes the amalgamation of the German newspapers in Western Ontario, and secures for the German element a large representative newspaper where formerly they had a number of small papers each with a very limited field. It is a noteworthy fact that this amalgamation happens to be effected in the 50th year since the establishment of the firm of Rittinger & Motz.

Dear Sir,
We have an interesting announcement to make with reference to the recent amalgamation of the New Hamburg Volksblatt with our business.
Although this step has added fully one-third to our circulation in Perth County and vicinity, still we have decided to continue the former advertising rates.
The result of this is, that an advertisement will now be placed before the readers of Stratford Kolonist and New Hamburg Volksblatt at the same price as was paid us formerly for space in one paper alone.
The German business in your vicinity was always worthy of an advertiser's consideration and now that all of it can be reached through one advertisement we believe you will readily admit the great publicity value of our combined publications.
We enclose our rate card for your inspection.
Yours truly
RITTINGER & MOTZ.
