The University of Waterloo was proud to host the 36th Annual Canadian Student IIE Conference from January 21st through the 24th, 2016. The conference was a platform for knowledge sharing, competing, networking, and learning. Students competed in a variety of competitions such as technical paper, simulation, theoretical and case study competition. In addition to the competitions, there were multiple networking events and opportunities to learn more about the field of Industrial Engineering, such as a Wine and Cheese event, a facility tour, a networking social and over 25 speaker sessions.
Over 450 engineering students attended the conference, from 11 different schools across the nation and from the United States. The students and staff each enjoyed the 4-day experience and had plenty of positive feedback to the organizers and the University of Waterloo. Students were left feeling inspired, empowered and motivated to make a difference in their field.
