All Mathematics/Business students will have the opportunity to select the Mathematics/Information Technology Management (Math/ITM) program in second year.
As a student in Waterloo's exciting new Math/ITM program, you will receive a strong and broad-based education in mathematics, business and information technology. Courses include systems analysis, software engineering, databases, e-business, networks, project management and management information systems.
You will learn about a variety of information systems and techniques and their uses in business and society. The program focuses on the application of computers to difficult business issues. This program provides the skills to allow you to liaise between business and technical people with a strong user background in current technologies.
Today’s business leaders recognize the importance of using technology to solve real-world business problems. The effective management of information technology is critical in today’s business environment. With constant changes in both business processes and technology, many positions require the mathematical, business and IT management skills that this program combines. Graduates from this program will have a wide range of interesting and novel opportunities.
Program requirements

You can use any calendar from the year you start in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo to the year you finish your degree requirements. For example, if you started in 2019 you can use any calendar from 2019 until the year you complete your degree requirements. Please note that you can not use a calendar (or checklist) for any years before beginning your studies in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo.
