Academic excellence is at the heart of the School of Optometry & Vision Science. This quality starts with its award-winning faculty. Our professors are recognized both nationally and internationally for their research and teaching. Some of the world's most renowned research initiatives concerning the eye are underway here, such as the development of an in vitro ocular toxicity assay. You will have the opportunity to work with the faculty behind many important initiatives. While studying in Vision Science, you will play a vital role in making our program one of the best Vision Research institutions in North America and beyond.
Graduates from the Vision Science program continue to further study, employment within research laboratories nationally and worldwide, as well as employment in health care. Many of our doctoral graduates have retained positions as faculty at various universities worldwide. Graduates from the Vision Science program have also gone on to careers within industry, working for companies such as Alcon, Merc, Coopervision, Johnson & Johnson and others. In addition, graduates have also become highly specialized clinicians working in tertiary care institutions such as the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
