Coldest Night of the Year
Waterloo Pharmacy has participated in the Coldest Night of the Year walk for over a decade
Annually, the Ray of Hope Community Centre hosts their Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) walk to raise funds and awareness for people experiencing homelessness, hurt and hunger.Waterloo Pharmacy is proud to host a halfway rest spot at the School in the heart of downtown Kitchener. Volunteers provide walkers participating in CNOY with a rest stop, warm beverages and snacks. Pharmacy staff and student ambassadors connect with the community at this event, encouraging them to keep walking for this great cause. This friendly walk centers in on the hardships for those experiencing homelessness and poverty – shedding a light on the increased homeless in Kitchener.
Ray of Hope Community Centre
Waterloo Pharmacy faculty, staff and students prepare and serve dinner at the Ray of Hope Community Centre for people in our community who are experiencing houselessness and systemic barriers to acquiring meals. Waterloo Pharmacy has been hosting this dinner since 2017. The School missed 2021 and 2022 due to the COVID pandemic where we made an effort to fundraise only.
