Since it's inception, the Ambulatory Care Residency Program has attracted outstanding residents that excel in their field. Learn more about previous program residents below.
During her time as a resident, Celine participated in unique teaching and advocacy opportunities. She assisted in facilitating a novel Indigenous Reconciliation Sharing Circle activity for first-year pharmacy students. Afterwards, she presented on Indigenous learning experiences in the PharmD program for the University of Waterloo Board of Governors. Celine was the first resident to complete an outpatient mental health rotation with the Canadian Mental Health Association in Waterloo-Wellington.
After completing the residency program, Celine has worked in various settings including Two Rivers Family Health Team in Cambridge, an independent pharmacy in Waterloo, and as a teaching assistant at the School of Pharmacy.
After graduating from Dalhousie University in 2015, Laura traveled across Nova Scotia as a provincial relief pharmacist. She then spent a year as a community pharmacist in Bermuda before returning to Nova Scotia to manage a small-town pharmacy. It was then that she decided to pursue the Ambulatory Care Residency Program.
During her residency, Laura conducted research on the quality of pharmacist-led community warfarin management with settings including Ontario Family Health Teams and community pharmacies across Nova Scotia. After completing the residency program, Laura joined the Two Rivers Family Health Team in Cambridge.
During his time as a resident, Joey conducted research on resistant hypertension and optimal diuretic use in a pharmacist-led hypertension clinic. He was heavily involved in the Health Sciences Campus COVID-19 vaccine clinic and trained pharmacists and primary care offices across the Waterloo region on proper vaccine management. He also authored a module on heart failure for the popular Pharmacy5in5 digital learning platform.
After completing the residency, Joey joined Grand River Hospital as a clinical pharmacist. He also works part-time at the University Gates Long Term Care Home.
During her time as a resident, Bryanna conducted research on the Development of cpKPIs for Ambulatory Oncology that won first place for best poster at the Golden Horseshoe and Southwestern Ontario Residency Poster Night.
"This was my first opportunity to be involved in a nationwide research project, which was an amazing learning experience," she says of the project.
After completing the residency, Bryanna joined the the Centre for Family Medicine Family Health Team.
During her time as a resident, Khrystine conducted research that won second place for best poster at the Golden Horseshoe and Southwestern Ontario Residency Poster Night. She also authored a module on hypertension for the popular Pharmacy5in5 digital learning platform used by thousands of pharmacy professionals across Canada.
After completing the residency, Khrystine joined a family health team in Cambridge. She also works with the Regional Memory Clinic and was a course coordinator/lecturer at the School of Pharmacy.
Nikki was the first resident to complete the program.

It can be intimidating to go on this journey alone, but my residency co-ordinator Barb Coulston and residency director Dr. Jeff Nagge made it such a great experience for me.
