Awards and scholarships for graduate students in Pharmacy
Graduate students in the School of Pharmacy are encouraged to apply for internal and external awards that they are eligible for. Many of our students are successful in their applications for federal and provincial scholarships through Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) Program, or the Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST) Program.
In addition to the government funded scholarships, our students are eligible for select awards that are specifically for graduate students in the School of Pharmacy, made possible by the generous donations of benefactors including the Christine and David Edwards Graduate Studies Travel Award, the Donald J and Kathleen D McDougall Graduate Scholarship, and the Janet E.A. McDougall Graduate Scholarship.

School of Pharmacy Annual Graduate Awards
In recognition of outstanding achievement by master's and doctoral students in the School of Pharmacy, these awards celebrate excellence in academics, research, teaching, and scholarly presentation. Up to four awards are presented annually to students who have made exceptional contributions to the School's academic and research community.
Donald J. & Kathleen D. McDougall Graduate Scholarship
Established by alumna Janet McDougall (BSc ’71) in honour of her parents, Donald and Kathleen McDougall, this $5,000 annual scholarship recognizes a School of Pharmacy master's or doctoral student who demonstrates academic excellence and a sustained commitment to community engagement and service.
Janet E.A McDougall Graduate Scholarship
Established by Lynne Howarth in memory of Janet McDougall, this award provides up to $15,000 annually to master's and doctoral students in the School of Pharmacy who demonstrate a passion for improving medication use, health outcomes, and related health challenges through research, professional practice, and community engagement.
