The annual Regional Clinical Coordinator (RCC) Conference was held in-person, for the first time since the pandemic began, at Waterloo Pharmacy on Oct 20-21.

An integral part of the PharmD program at Waterloo Pharmacy are the patient care rotations. Fourth year students complete their rotations in the last six months of the program and are placed directly in patient care clinical placements in one of the 14 regions across Ontario.

Each region has its own RCC who organizes and schedules student placements, trains preceptors and provides additional support where needed. We welcome Jennifer Kutten as the newest RCC for the Ottawa region.

“It’s a privilege to lead such an inspiring team of pharmacists. We were all very excited to meet again in person after almost 3 years of meeting virtually. The conference provides an excellent platform for idea sharing from many areas of practice and it gives us the opportunity to engage in the train-the-trainer model that we utilize to support our students and preceptors across the province,”  says Ken Manson, experiential coordinator, patient care rotations at the School.

Thank you to the RCCs for taking the time out of their busy schedules to travel to Waterloo for the conference. We appreciate all their support and recognize how essential they are to our program.
