Benjamin Longley (Rx2028) and his research partner Connie Chong, MSc student in the Master of Peace and Conflict program, worked together to understand the barriers refugees face when accessing healthcare in Canada. Their project won third place in the Map the System Competition, sponsored by the Waterloo Institute for Complexity and Innovation (WICI).

Nicholas Cheng, MSc student at the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy, spent the last two years working on his graduate studies and navigating the business world. Looking back Cheng never expected his side project to launch another side project that eventually led to his start-up company, Evolv Biotech, where his team harnesses nanoparticles to clean toxic waste from oil and mining industries.

Hosted at the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy and organized by the Pharmacy Graduate Student Association (PhGA), the Waterloo Pharmacy Graduate Research Day celebrated graduate student progress.
