The Women in Pharmacy Leadership (WIPL) Alumni Mentorship Program pairs recent alumni who identify as females with working or retired professionals in their field of interest, to help them move towards their leadership goals. Carla Beaton and Jessica Leavitt (Rx2015) were one of seven mentor and mentee pairs who participated in the 2025-2026 alumni mentorship program.

Dr. Cindy Yeung (PhD’23) is the 2024 University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy Alumni Achievement Award recipient. She began her PhD journey at the School of Pharmacy with one goal in mind, to build a better world.

Alumni Spotlight: Rahul Karuturi, PhD

After five years of working as a research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry, Rahul Karuturi (PhD’25) wanted to expand his scientific horizons. He reflects on his PhD journey at the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy.

Anthony Amadio (Rx2011) and Mike Collins (Rx2011), WRHN residency co-ordinators have developed the newly established pharmacy residency program to provide pharmacy residents with training opportunities in hospitals to increase leadership, management, research, teaching and distribution skills. The formal partnership with the Waterloo Pharmacy will provide potential opportunities for the residents to conduct research with faculty members, manage PharmD co-op students and deliver academic lectures to future pharmacists.
