Biography

Elaine Lillie started her working life as a high school teacher, teaching English and Theatre Arts in Waterloo County. After 4 years, she decided to leave the classroom for a career in business. After earning an MBA from York University, Elaine began a 25+ year business career where she held increasingly senior positions in the sales and marketing of technology services to commercial clients. She has been a Director at both CIBC and RIM. Elaine also has experience in the social service sector. She was an Executive Director at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kitchener-Waterloo during the period of transition where the two agencies became one.

Elaine has a passion for both teaching and communication. Throughout her working life, she has had personal responsibility for, and led teams of people that have created training and communication initiatives that have consistently exceeded clients’ expectations.

In 2002, Elaine became a member of the part-time faculty at Wilfrid Laurier University where she taught courses in Business Communication at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Elaine has been at the School of Pharmacy since its opening. She collaborated with faculty, staff and students to create Communication and Interprofessional programs that are innovative and genuinely focused on graduating patient-centered pharmacists.

Elaine retired from her position as Director, Interprofessional Education and Curriculum Development in September 2018.
