Biography

Dr. Rida Bukhari is a distinguished pharmacist with extensive experience in both community and consultancy settings. As the owner and designated manager of Rida’s Pharmacy in Marathon, ON, Dr. Bukhari founded a rural pharmacy to serve the local community, neighboring towns, and several indigenous communities. Collaborating closely with the North of Superior Healthcare Group, Dr. Bukhari has significantly improved healthcare access in the region.

In addition to her work at Rida’s Pharmacy, Dr. Bukhari is a senior consultant at PharmaGuide Inc. in Toronto, ON, where she has been instrumental in developing cloud-based pharmacy tools to optimize patient outcomes. Her expertise extends to creating algorithms and templates that assist pharmacists in providing professional services such as minor ailment prescribing and medication reviews.

Dr. Bukhari’s leadership experience includes her tenure as Director of Continuing Education and Advancement at PharmAchieve Corporation Ltd., where she managed multiple departments and up to 40 practicing pharmacists. She has worked closely with several provincial pharmacy regulatory bodies to create nationally accredited certification courses for pharmacists on emerging topics in pharmacy, such as cannabis use, immunizations, and minor ailments. Dr. Bukhari has also co-authored the only recognized TELUS Health Kroll Software Training and Certification program. Dr. Bukhari has acted as a clinical preceptor at McMaster University and the University of Waterloo where she has significantly contributed to the professional development of future pharmacists.

In her current role at the University of Waterloo's School of Pharmacy as Experiential Coordinator, Indigenous, Northern, Rural, and Remote (INRR), Dr. Bukhari will further her commitment to improving healthcare access and education in INRR communities.
