Biography

Leni graduated from the University of Waterloo's School of Pharmacy in 2015, as a member of the first cohort to receive the entry-to-practice PharmD designation. Since then, Leni has worked in various community settings, including retail pharmacies, Family Health Teams, and an outpatient endocrinology clinic.

Mentorship has been a significant focus throughout Leni's career. From 2017 to 2020, they served as a PACE (Practice Assessment of Competency at Entry) Assessor and Coach, appointed by the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP). Since 2019, Leni has been a Quality Assurance Coach and Assessor at OCP and in 2020, they became a Certified Diabetes Educator. As a Clinical Preceptor, Leni has had the pleasure of mentoring numerous students through co-op placements and patient care rotations. In 2023, Leni assumed the role of Regional Clinical Coordinator for the London/Rural region and was fortunate to receive mentorship from co-RCC Rose Patodia, as part of the Women in Pharmacy Leadership Mentorship Program.

Leni is committed to advancing inclusive health care, particularly concerning 2SLGBTQIA+ health. They focus on recognizing diversity and implementing changes in practice to promote equity. Their advocacy efforts include contributions to Ontario Health’s Quality Standards for Gender Affirming Care, involvement in OCP’s EDI initiatives, and as a board member for local non-profits aimed at developing safe spaces for the rainbow community.
