I saved more than $1,000 this week: Check out CURAC affinity partners, available to you as a UWRA member (or University of Waterloo retiree, but we wish you’d join!) We cut our home, cottage, and car insurance in half with belairdirect, and I (Ron Champion) got new specs at Specsavers for $300 less what my wife paid at the optometrist’s.

The recording of the October 16 presentation on CURAC affinity partners is available here. The password to watch the recording is !1$6qq9&.

Your dream tour is closer than ever—Collette’s Black Friday Sale is here soon. Check out their video, Collette Black Friday 2025 News Update.

How to improve your walking speed: Train your body and your brain. Is your speed slowing down? It could be a sign that your strength, flexibility, or fitness needs a boost. Learn how to improve your walking speed with simple standing exercises and brain-training techniques.

President Ron Champion kicked off a pop-up lunch at Stockyards — one of Waterloo Region’s newest and largest restaurants with a UW connection — in September. It was a great chance for retirees to catch up over good food and lively conversation! Ron’s now looking for the next host, so if you’d like to plan the next UW retiree lunch, reach out and join the fun.
