Huron park pond with colourful trees and blue sky.

Huron Nature Park Trail: Get ready for an invigorating outing in one of Kitchener’s hidden gems on Wednesday, September 10 at 10 a.m.  The Huron Nature Area is the city’s largest natural space, spanning an impressive 107 hectares, and home to some of the finest hiking trails around.

On this UWRA adventure, we’ll wander through several interconnected trails at an easy pace, taking time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The paths are well-marked, well-kept, and easy to navigate, with just a few gentle hills to keep things interesting. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned hiker, this promises to be a wonderful few hours in nature. Plan for a walk of 1.5 to 2 hours, led by our enthusiastic hike leader, Howard Armitage.

We’ll meet at the parking lot at 9:45 a.m. beside 801 Trillium Dr, Kitchener. Register today through our website. Lace up your shoes, bring a smile, and join us for fresh air, exercise, and great company. See you at the trailhead!

Pop-up lunch at Stockyards: enjoy lunch at one of Waterloo Region’s newest (and largest) restaurants! Tuesday, September 16, 12:30 p.m. Reserve your seat(s) at the table by emailing Ron Champion by September 12. Stockyards offers much to see and savour, and there’s even a UW connection!

Brew Crew is resuming in September! Come out for conversation, coffee, and collegiality. Conestoga Mall Tim Hortons on the first Thursday of every month at 10 a.m.

Homecoming: On Saturday, September 20, 2025, reignite your black and gold spirit at Homecoming! Join other faculty, staff and retirees, plus students and alumni to cheer on the Warriors football teamas they take on Queen's Golden Gaels. Touch down before the game for a parking lot party — complete with live music, memorabilia from the UWaterloo archives and food trucks. Learn more and register.

Ready for more nostalgia? Take part in the 2025 Fun Run — back by popular demand! Or join morning yoga class at the Field House.

Third Age Learning Kitchener-Waterloo: This fall lecture series will appeal to many, as the topics are varied.  Back By Popular Demand is an eclectic and intriguing lineup of former speakers and topics, all of which were highly recommended by patrons, former TAL-KW volunteers, and through information gained from audience surveys. Each week attendees will hear an expert in a different sphere of research and study. This series idea was first presented several years ago, and it became one of the most highly attended lecture series ever. The series runs on Tuesday afternoons, from October 14 - December 2. Registration will be open soon.  Watch the TAL website, and follow TAL on Facebook .
