The UW Retirees’ Association would like to invite you to attend a seminar on Fraud Prevention & Awareness for Seniors on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the University of Waterloo’s East Campus Building 5 (EC5, Room 1111) at 2:00 p.m. Entry for parking in Parking Lot Q can be accessed either via Phillip Street or Columbia Street.
Our guest speaker is Nizar Kubursi, BA(Econ), PFP, CFP, CIM, a Wealth Advisor at CIBC Wood Gundy, where he provides comprehensive financial planning and investment advice to individuals, families, and businesses. Nizar has over 11 years of experience at CIBC.
Recent CIBC Wood Gundy news mentioned that Fraud Prevention Month was observed in March. Despite the easing of pandemic measures, fraud incidents are on the rise. Scammers use advanced tactics to deceive consumers. Be cautious of offers that seem too good to be true, be cautious when clicking links or attachments, and protect personal information from unsolicited calls, texts, or emails. There will be time for questions and answers at this event.
Please register here to attend in person.
Bottled water will be supplied to attendees.
No other food or drink items are permitted in the room.
Please feel free to bring a notepad and pen to take notes.
Thank you.
Sue Fraser, UWRA Board Member
