Harnessing Robotics and AI for Climate Solutions

RoboHub and ESG Partners Inc. are excited to announce their participation in the inaugural Canada Climate Week Xchange (CCWX). As part of this national initiative, RoboHub and ESG Partners will host Harnessing Robotics & AI For Climate Solutions, which aims to explore how robotics and AI can be applied to climate solutions, and how a climate lens can be applied to existing robotics work in areas like healthcare to respond to climate threats.

Harnessing Robotics & AI For Climate Solutions is taking place during CCWX 2025, which runs from November 24 to November 30th.

Evan Ackerman, Senior Editor of IEEE Spectrum and one of this year's Global Engagement Seminar Jarislowski Fellows, will be giving a talk titled “Robots vs Reality: Responsible Science Communication in the Attention Economy” at 4 pm on October 21st in DC 1351.

Global Engagement Seminar Speaker Series

The Global Engagement Seminar: Me and My Robot is opening its special lectures to the public for the first time! Join our 2024 Jarislowsky Fellows, leading experts and practitioners in the field, as we explore the social, physical, and practical interfaces between humans and robots and what their presence in our everyday environments will mean for ourselves as individuals and for society more broadly.

Everyone is welcome - no registration required!

All lectures are taking place in Engineering 5, Room 3102 and include a talk and Q&A.

University of Waterloo students may soon be able to order pizza or a burger from a nearby plaza and have it brought to campus by Canada’s first all-weather autonomous delivery robot.

When Pablo Molina (BASc ’11), chairman, CTO, VP of Product and co-founder of Avidbots, wanted to improve his company's flagship autonomous floor-scrubbing robot, he turned to his former University of Waterloo professor and mentor, William Melek, for help.
