The WATonomous student team, co-advised by RoboHub Director Wiliam Melek and Professor Derek Rayside, has won second place in the SAE AutoDrive Challenge in the final year of the competition!

The competition tasks teams of university students with developing an autonomous vehicle from scratch in only 3 years. With the help of researchers in many labs across campus, including the Mechatronic Vehicle Systems Lab led by Professor Amir Khajepour, the WATonomous team (of over 50 students) has been incredibly successful throughout the competition.
