WATonomous team wins second place in SAE AutoDrive Challenge

Congratulation to the WATonomous team for achieving a second place win in the final year of the SAE AutoDrive Challenge. The team has more than 50 students at the moment and advised by Derek Rayside and William Melek. WATonomous also cooperated with research labs such as the Mechatronic Vehicle Systems Lab. The team won the following awards:

  • Overall: 2nd Place
  • Safety + Technical Reports: 1st Place
  • Social Responsibility Report: 2nd Place
  • Social Responsibility Event: 3rd Place
  • Concept Design Report: 3rd Place  

Many MME students are a significant part of the team and they made major contributions to the success of the team. These leaders include the Perception Lead, Anita Hu, Infrastructure Lead, Stephen Wang, and Mechanical Lead, Rukshi Thiyagayogan.
