AFOW is helping incoming first-year students start their university experience off right

Accounting and Finance Orientation Week (AFOW) will be held in person this Fall with three days of exciting events!

AFOW is a student organization that plans additional opportunities for you to meet and connect with others in the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF). AFOW aims to help incoming first-year students start their university experience off right, which is why we have organized an exciting three days of events planned for you from September 11-15, 2022. 

This year AFOW is back in-person and here’s what we have planned:

Games Day: September 11

• Games Day will let you bond with a mix of first- and upper-year students in friendly competitions from “Blindfolded Sock Dodgeball” to “Tic-Tac-Toe Relay”. It is a kickstart to getting to know your classmates on the first day of AFOW!

Scavenger Hunt: September 12

• In the Scavenger Hunt you will be able to get familiar with navigating campus by solving a series of clues with your peers to form a mysterious word! By the end of the hunt, you will be a UWaterloo campus pro.

Club Crawl: September 15

• Now that you have been introduced to new people and know your way around campus, it is time to know your School! Club Crawl is a great opportunity to hear all about the SAF clubs that you can join! So that even when our three-day event ends, you can continue to explore the SAF community and make friends!
