The Thematic Symposium seeks to understand and highlight the ethical consequences of technology on the accounting profession, accounting professionalism and recipients and users of all accounting services. This event will provide an opportunity to interact and share ideas throughout the symposium.

This cross-disciplinary tax symposium provides a rare opportunity to share differing perspectives on current tax issues. Invitees are mostly university tax faculty from accounting, law, and economics, but also includes current PhD students, representatives from the Centre’s sponsors, and officials from the Department of Finance, the Canada Revenue Agency and the Ontario Ministry of Finance.

The University of Texas, Austin, and the University of Waterloo will be hosting their second joint symposium on research in taxation. Building on the success of the previous conference, we look forward to providing a forum for stimulating discussion of emerging research topics.
