Waterloo's School of Accounting and Finance offers 4 programs that hold the highest level of national accreditation from Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Canada, providing you with a direct pathway to the CPA designation.
The AFM and CFM undergraduate programs are accredited through the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) University Affiliation Program. As a student, you will receive advance preparation to challenge the 3 CFA accreditation exams as early as Year 4 of the program.

Sustainability and Financial Management
The only one of its kind in Canada, the Sustainability and Financial Management (SFM) program teaches students to align people, profits, and the planet to shape a brighter and greener future. The program is accredited through CPA Canada and prepares students for up to three professional designations.
Accounting and Financial Management
The Accounting and Financial Management (AFM) program is accredited through both CPA Canada and the CFA University Affiliation Program, preparing students for up to four professional designations. AFM students can customize their degree by choosing one of six specializations to develop their analytical skills, entrepreneurial and sustainable mindset, network, and business savvy.
Computing and Financial Management
Computing and Financial Management (CFM) at Waterloo is the only program of its kind in Canada. Students take an equal amount of computer science and finance courses to fit two majors within one degree and prepare for the financial technology industry. CFM is accredited through both CPA Canada and the CFA University Affiliation Program, preparing students for up to four professional designations.
Biotechnology/Chartered Professional Accountancy
Students in Biotechnology/Chartered Professional Accountancy (Biotech/CPA) understand how biological processes are used to develop new technologies while gaining knowledge and expertise in financial management, accounting, auditing, and taxation. The program is accredited through CPA Canada and prepares students to enter the fast-growing industry of biotechnology.
Mathematics/Chartered Professional Accountancy
The Mathematics/Chartered Professional Accountancy (Math/CPA) program is the only program in Canada accredited through CPA Canada which offers a Bachelor of Mathematics (BMath). Students develop their mathematical, computer, and statistical skills and apply them to solve problems in the specialized field of accounting.
