A big thing that comes with applying for University is the cost, not tuition fees but the application fee. When I started looking into University, I knew there was a cost that came with applying but I didn’t know how much it was. Finding out how much my application would cost was very easy as all the information is on OUAC, I just had to pick what type of application I would be making and it gave me everything I need to know in terms of the base application fee as well as any additional costs. Because I live in Ontario, and I am only applying to Universities in Ontario, it will cost me $150 CDN for a base application. This then limits me to only being able to apply to three programs. If I want to apply to more than three programs, I will have to pay an additional $50 for every program I want. However, I don’t think I’ll have to worry about that as I’m really only interested in AFM (accounting and financial management) and Arts&Bus (arts and business). I will be continuing to do research into other programs, this way I’ll be applying to the three programs that are best for me while maximizing the $150 cost. Even though I don’t have to pay that much compared to international students for my application, I still have to pay quite a bit as I’m planning on paying for University myself. Knowing the cost of applications has allowed me to manage my money in a way so I’m not struggling for money when it comes to actually applying.
