Students who receive an acceptance offer from the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) tend to be hardworking and dedicated learners. With your four years of high-school experience, you are ready to tackle the challenges that university will present. However, it is important to remember that as a first-year student, you should not only learn what you are exposed to in your studies but also discover productive ways to study.

In high school, you may have been able to achieve high marks simply by participating in class and completing your homework. At SAF, the material is often taught through problem-solving methods in which students learn from case studies and situations while collaborating in groups. To succeed, moreover, truly learn the content, a proper study style that suites you must be adopted. Whether it be reviewing your notes before classes, noting all the lecture material during sessions or absorbing all the content taught by the instructor and then reviewing the textbook material afterwards. Selecting a study method is just as important as the exposure to knowledge and sets you up for success!
