Vanessa Martinez Storin, a Science and Business student at the University of Waterloo, transformed her passion for photography into a thriving entrepreneurial venture through the Enterprise Co-op (E-Coop) program. As the COO of Virtual Tour Studios, Vanessa developed a business specializing in immersive and interactive virtual tours using AR and VR technology. 

Throughout the pandemic, students in the WatSolve Consulting Group have continued to provide support for small science companies to find their niche in the market, through management consulting. The University of Waterloo is well known for its experiential learning experiences, and the Science and Business program is no exception.

The implementation of a blockchain-based system may resolve many of the challenges facing current electronic medical records for British Columbia patients. 

By integrating a blockchain encryption method that works with the current electronic medical record options already being used, patient information could be securely and efficiently passed between healthcare providers, without the need for paper records or faxes, according to researchers from the University of Waterloo.
