The Faculty of Arts houses fifteen academic departments, as well as the School of Accounting and Finance, the Balsillie School of International Affairs, and the Stratford School of Interaction Design and Business. The Faculty offers over thirty majors, 37 graduate degree programs, and more than 400 degree options. Home to seventeen research centres, nine Canada Research Chairs, and four endowed chairs, the Faculty of Arts is known for its research and teaching excellence, and the diversity of its programs.
The Dean of Arts is the chief academic officer of the Faculty and a member of the University’s academic leadership team. Reporting to the Vice-President Academic & Provost, the Dean is accountable for the Faculty’s strategic vision, for ensuring the academic quality and integrity of its programs and operations, for championing fundraising efforts and outreach, and for enhancing the Faculty’s research profile. The ideal candidate will be an excellent scholar appointable to the rank of Full Professor, will have significant administrative experience earned in a complex environment, and must demonstrate a collegial and collaborative leadership style.
