Outline/course syllabus

Instructors are encouraged/welcome to use outline.uwaterloo.ca. Outline is a great tool to develop, revise, and store your course outlines. The advantages include:

  • Consistent and up-to-date required statements
  • AODA compliance
  • Transfer credit assessments
  • AND easy documentation of the cost of teaching materials

Additional benefits of using this system include:

  • Providing students with the ability to view their outlines at any point in their academic career
  • Consistent information layout across all courses
  • Simplified administrative and archival processes.

For an overview of requirements, please refer to the St. Jerome’s Course Outline Requirements Policy. Article 4 contains the required language regarding academic integrity that must be placed at the end of the outline.  

For those not using Outline.uwaterloo.ca, the Course Outline Template can be found as Appendix A in the Course Outlines Requirements Policy, or you can download the document from the Policies and Procedures webpage or from the link below. The template adheres to the University of Waterloo required language regarding academic integrity and provides simple formatting that follows accessibility standards for online content.
