Qualified students can receive exemptions for up to 9 of 10 associate-level exams following "Route A".

Exemptions from MActSc

Successfully complete the program with an overall average above 75% to receive exemptions from CS1, CS2, CM1, CM2, CB1, CB2, CP1, CP2, and CP3. Exemptions for individual exams available subject to conditions.

​​Remaining Steps Towards AIA/AFA

  1. Complete Professional Skills Training (Stage 1 & 2, online courses)
  2. Pass CB3 exam (Business Management).
  3. Complete 24 months of Personal and Professional Development (PPD).

Society of Actuaries

Qualified students can receive exemptions for up to 6 of 7 associate-level exams and all VEEs.

Exemptions from MActSc

  1. Apply for and receive all IFoA exam exemptions to qualify for SOA waivers for P, FM, FAM, ALTAM, ASTAM, and VEEs (AF, Econ, MS).
  2. Complete ACTSC 623 and ACTSC 632 with a minimum grade of 75% then apply for UEC credit for SRM exam directly from the SOA. UEC credit for FM available subject to conditions.

​​​​​Remaining Steps Towards ASA

  1. Complete Pre-Actuarial Foundations and Actuarial Science Foundations (e-Learning).
  2. Pass Predictive Analytics (PA) exam.
  3. Complete Fundamentals of Actuarial Practice and Advance Topics in Predictive Analytics (e-Learning).
  4. Complete Associateship Professionalism Course (virtual or in-person, by invitation only)

Canadian Institute of Actuaries

Students can receive their ACIA designation within a few months of graduation by following the "Pathway 1" timeline.

Exemptions from MActSc

Successfully completing the program is Step 1 in Pathway 1.

​​​​​​Remaining Steps Towards ACIA

  1. Complete ACIA Modules 1 and 2, which can be done in Term 3.
  2. Pass the ACIA Capstone Exam.
  3. Complete the CIA Professionalism Workshop.

Casualty Actuary Society

Qualified students who are interested in becoming credentialed property and casualty actuaries can receive exemptions for 3 CAS exams and all VEEs.

Exemptions from MActSc

Apply for and receive all IFoA exam exemptions to qualify for CAS waivers for Exam 1, Exam 2, MAS-I, and VEEs (AF and Econ).

​​​​​​​Remaining Steps Towards ACAS

  1. Complete three Data and Insurance Series Courses (CAS DISCs). Can be done in Term 3.
  2. Pass exams MAS-II, Exam 5, and Exam 6.
  3. Complete the CAS course on Professionalism.
