Health and medication use are complex issues. We need new drugs to treat and prevent diseases both current and emerging. We need more effective ways to use medications. We need to understand how to optimize health care spending and services and how to ensure equitable access for all.
Our faculty are tackling these issues, developing vibrant research programs that range from drug discovery to drug delivery to drug dosing, from patient adherence to the delivery of pharmacy and health services and from population health to health costs and policy.
Over the next five years, we will foster a collaborative research environment that supports interdisciplinary, translational and transformational research. We will explore opportunities to increase funding for our research and support entrepreneurship and commercialization of our discoveries. We will promote knowledge translation and the dissemination of our work to facilitate change. The success of these efforts will be measured by the impact that we have on patients and the health care system.
