The first Energize: Sustainable City Challenge is being held at the University of Waterloo as part of Power Shift Waterloo Region and Climate Action Waterloo Region. Around 30 students across the Region of Waterloo will be selected to attend this innovative workshop to showcase their vision for a sustainable city, while keeping in mind the challenges we face with climate change

At this event, students will:

  • Learn about real-world local energy and sustainability issues
  • Have the opportunity to network with other students, sustainability leaders, and workshop mentors
  • Gain a hands-on and interactive experience dealing with current challenges regarding climate change, energy, and sustainability
  • Be given resources to incorporate sustainable behaviour changes and actions in their daily lives

Climate Action Waterloo Region has partnered with the Office of Sustainability to host this event to get more youth engaged on topics of energy, sustainability and climate change. Stay tuned for a list of schools that will be represented at the Energize: Sustainable City Challenge.
