The Sustainability Office is excited to announce the launch of a new Green Residence Ambassador pilot in partnership with Housing and Residences in main campus residences.

Twenty ambassadors have been recruited for the winter term across 4 residences, including Columbia Lake Village (CLV), Ron Eydt Village (REV), UW Place (UWP), and Village 1 (V1). The pilot will focus on waste reduction education and outreach among residence students, including a weekly sorting challenge and help promoting existing programs and initiatives on campus and in the community.

The pilot program supports a number of the objectives set out in Waterloo's Environmental Sustainability Strategy and Zero Waste UW Action Plan, including our target of being a zero waste campus by 2035 and providing leadership opportunities and training for students in residence.
