The University of Waterloo International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) team does it again. For the 4^th year in a row, the team earned Gold Standing at the competition. This year they brought home the Best Poster prize!

Engineering students Motaz Al-Ashhab , Anuja Chokshi, Astor Wong, and Eric Wong won 2nd place (plus the bonus prize!) at the Innovative Designs for Accessibility (IDeA)  student competition, held at the OCE Discovery Conference earlier this week. 

The next big innovation to hit the marketplace could be among the Waterloo student projects on display at the annual Capstone Design symposia beginning March 16. 

Senior-year engineering students at Waterloo will exhibit projects ranging from a technology that reduces agricultural water waste through intelligent irrigation systems to a device that may help people with Parkinson`s disease avoid falls.
