In this module, students learn feedback strategies as well as the value of positive and constructive feedback regarding their own and the team’s performance. Students learn to actively listen to other team members’ contributions, acknowledge and verify information to ensure understanding, and openly express their opinions and ideas to define and clarify individual contributions. The customizable activities in this module provide opportunities for students to appraise alternative solutions, or provide insights for improvement, in order to come up with an optimal solution.
Students will learn feedback strategies to respond to other members’ requests for feedback. The value in positive and constructive feedback regarding their own and the team’s performance will be communicated as they engage feedback from their peers using a staged feedback process. Students will actively listen to other team member’s contributions, acknowledge and verify information to ensure understanding and openly express their opinions and ideas to define and clarify individual contributions. This will provide opportunities for improvement and to appraise alternative solutions provided by teammates to determine the best solution.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
