What is a QECO letter request?
It's a letter provided to University of Waterloo graduates (from undergraduate programs) that outlines courses taken above and beyond degree requirements to fulfill a professional association’s requirement. Examples include:
- Qualifications Evaluation Council of Ontario (QECO)
- Alberta Teachers' Association (ATA)
- Chartered Professional Accountants Ontario
Two versions of the letter will be provided for you:
- one you can submit to your association
- one for your records
Ordering a QECO Letter
Log in to our online QECO Letter Request using your University of Waterloo username and password.
If you are unable to log in to your Quest account complete the Forgotten username and/or Forgotten password forms. If you are still unable to access your account, contact the Service Desk to reset your password. The Service Desk can also create an account for alumni, or for any student who has been enrolled in at least one course since September 2001.
QECO Letters will be processed within 1-3 weeks.
Fee and payment options
Orders submitted in error will not be refunded.
Two copies of your letter will be provided for one processing fee of $50 (including GST). We accept the following methods of payment:
- Cash (in person)
- Interac Debit (in person)
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express (in person or online via e-commerce)
- WatCard (in person)
