Request for Relief from Consecutive Final Examinations

Use this form to request relief for your final examination schedule if your final examinations are scheduled in consecutive final examination periods in the following instances:

  • two University of Waterloo final examinations, or
  • Waterloo on-campus final examination and/or final examinations for online courses offered through the Centre for Extended Learning (CEL), or
  • one Waterloo final examination and one Wilfrid Laurier University (Laurier) final examination.
    • Note: If a Waterloo and a Laurier final examination are scheduled consecutively, relief may be requested for the Waterloo final examination only. The Laurier final examination must be written at the scheduled date and time. Relief for consecutive Laurier final examinations must be requested through Laurier.

Submission deadline

  • For winter term relief: Tuesday, February 18 at 4:00 p.m.

Important information

  • If you choose to request final examination relief, note that knowledgeable proctors will not be available to answer questions at your alternate location/time.
  • Relief is not available if your final examination is written in a lab (i.e., computer lab, wet lab, etc.) or requires special equipment (i.e., musical instruments, etc.). The Registrar's Office will notify you if these situations apply, once the form is submitted.

  • If you choose not to request final examination relief (or miss the submission deadline) for consecutively scheduled final examinations, petitions and grievances will not be granted.
