Students travelling to campus this weekend should plan ahead, as a full closure of Highway 85 may impact travel times.
The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has confirmed that Highway 85 will be fully closed in both directions from Saturday, December 6 at 10 p.m. until Sunday, December 7 at 6 p.m. The closure is required for the demolition of the Frederick Street bridge.
Northbound lanes will be impacted at Ottawa Street, and southbound lanes will be closed at Wellington Street. Access to the highway from Ottawa Street, Wellington Street, Edna Street, and Bruce Street will also be restricted during the closure.
Students writing exams on Saturday or Sunday can expect delays, particularly if they normally use Highway 85 to reach campus. Consider planning alternate routes or allowing additional travel time.
