Did you know that The Centre has six bookable rooms for study/meetings by University of Waterloo students/staff/faculty? Rooms can be booked through Outlook using your @uwaterloo.ca email address, or you can stop by one of our kiosks in the Centre to ask a specialist to book a room for you.
The rooms are bookable during our business hours, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Book the room
To book a meeting, select your time in Outlook (e.g. 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.), invite your attendees and then choose one of the following Centre rooms as your meeting location:
- CTR NH-1033 Beaker (holds 3 people)
- CTR NH-1027 Boar (holds 6-8 people)
- CTR NH-1030 The Green Room (holds 3 people)
- CTR NH-1031 Pink Tie (holds 3 people)
- CTR NH-1032 The Tool (holds 3 people)
- CTR NH-1029 Kanga (holds 6 people)
- If the room of your choice is available, you will see a green "Available" message if you right-click in the "location" box. If the room is unavailable for the time you wish to book, you will see a red "Busy" message.
Examples of "Available" and "Busy" messages for room bookings:
- Once you send the request for the available room, you will receive an automatic reply from Outlook, stating "Your request was received and is pending approval." Rooms may only be booked one at a time. Reoccurring or multiple bookings from the same person will not be approved.
- Once the room booking is reviewed and approved, you will receive another message through Outlook that states "Your meeting has been accepted." The room is now booked.
Accessing the room when you visit The Centre
The Centre is located on the first floor of Needles Hall. When you arrive, look for the doorway to the far right of the kiosks. You will find the room you've booked in the hallway behind the doorway. Check-in is not required.
